Simone Biles
Simone Biles, a gymnast American, has won her 20th gold medal at the world championships when Team USA won their seventh world title in a row at Antwerp Belgium's event on October 4. With 33 medals she has the highest number of medals to ever compete in gymnastics. This also includes the Olympics. Biles has performed a vault so difficult that it was the first a woman ever did on an international scale. Biles II is now the name of the Yurchenko twin pike vault the vault was known previously as Yurchenko. This record-breaking gymnast is competing in her first ever international event since 2021 competes in the one-on-one all-around final in the 6th of October. In 1997, at Columbus Ohio Simone was taken away from the residence of her birth mother, who was struggling with addiction. She was placed in foster care with her three siblings. Ron, a retired Air Force vet and Nellie retired nurse helped care for Simone at the age of six years old. They also adopted their youngest sister Adria. Simone along with her other siblings were adopted by their maternal aunt.
